Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Email address - Required to create and manage your account
  • Display name - Optional, used to personalize your experience

Wardrobe Data

  • Photos of your clothing items - Core feature for wardrobe digitization
  • Item metadata - Category, color, brand, and other attributes you provide or we detect automatically
  • Outfits you create or save - Combinations of items and associated notes

Chat & Styling Data

  • Conversations with our AI stylist - Your messages and our responses
  • Style preferences - Preferences you share during conversations
  • Outfit recommendations - Suggestions we provide and your feedback

Location Data (Optional)

  • City/location - Used for weather-based outfit recommendations
  • You can disable location features at any time in Settings

Usage & Analytics

  • App usage patterns - How you interact with features
  • Crash reports - Technical information when errors occur
  • Device information - Device type, OS version for compatibility

How We Use Your Information

  • Provide our services - Power wardrobe management and AI styling features
  • Personalize recommendations - Offer relevant outfit suggestions based on your wardrobe and preferences
  • Improve our AI - Train and improve our styling algorithms (using anonymized data)
  • Communicate with you - Send service updates and respond to support requests
  • Ensure security - Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to operate Magnolia:

  • Supabase - Database, user authentication, and file storage (wardrobe photos)
  • Google - Powers our AI styling assistant and image analysis
  • OpenAI - Powers our AI styling assistant and image analysis
  • Apple Push Notification Service - Delivers notifications on iOS devices
  • Sentry - Crash reporting and error monitoring

These services have their own privacy policies and are contractually obligated to protect your data.

AI & Photo Processing

When you upload photos of your clothing items:

  • Photos are processed by our AI to detect item attributes (category, color, pattern, etc.)
  • AI-generated product images may be created for consistent display in your wardrobe
  • Your photos are never shared with other users or used for advertising
  • AI processing helps power outfit recommendations tailored to your wardrobe

Data Retention

  • Active accounts - Your data is retained while your account exists
  • Deleted accounts - Data is permanently removed within 30 days of account deletion
  • Anonymized analytics - May be retained for product improvement purposes

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:

  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
  • Access to production systems is restricted and audited
  • Regular security reviews and updates
  • Your wardrobe photos are stored in private storage buckets accessible only to you

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data - View all information we have about you
  • Delete your account - Remove all your data through the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account)
  • Opt out of marketing - Unsubscribe from promotional communications
  • Contact us - Ask questions about your data or this policy

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the Magnolia app:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Scroll to the Account section
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Confirm your email address and submit

Account deletion is permanent and removes all your data, including wardrobe items, outfits, and conversations.

Beta Program Notice

Magnolia is currently in beta. During this period:

  • Features may change as we improve the app
  • We may collect additional feedback to improve the experience
  • All data protection measures remain in full effect

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app and update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
